What’s the Research?

Experience Wellbeing retreat activities are inspired by evidence-based recommendations from a variety of sources of modern research in wellbeing, relationships and resilience.  For instance your staff or students are invited to:

  • express their own prior knowledge and build on it according to the pastoral and spiritual goals for their developmental level
  • articulate noble values to live by and tell stories of experience that express when the importance of a particular value was learnt,
  • develop personal and communal spirituality, meditate, pray, sing Christian and inclusive songs together, learn wisdom from Scripture
  • identify their role models and reach out to support networks, practice kindness, gratitude and forgiveness
  • set goals according to noble values, visualise success, practice observing self
  • connect positively with their peers through small group sharing, games, music and prayer

“No area of school life received such strong approval from students as their retreats…  Retreats help students to understand their relationship with God. For many, retreats are the most important religious experience of their lives.”
