My Long History of Youth Ministry Involvement
Donna Power has been involved in Catholic Retreat Ministries since 1999 when she initiated a youth ministry at her home parish of St William’s, Grovely, Brisbane. After graduating from her Bachelor of Education at QUT she began her career as a Campus Minister at Siena Catholic College on the Sunshine Coast, just north of Brisbane. For ten years Donna facilitated many Catholic Retreat Ministries and other pastoral and spiritual programs with students from Year 8 to Year 12. Since completing a decade as a Campus Minister, she has focussed on building the next phase of her ministry, Experience Wellbeing.
The Catholic Collective unites all the youth ministry initiatives across the Brisbane Archdiocese including Ethnic Communities, Movements, Parish Based, Social Justice, Tertiary and Retreat Ministries. Experience Wellbeing’s Retreats for Catholic Schools is among the initiatives listed in the Catholic Collective Directory and Donna Power is very grateful for their support.
From the Catholic Collective of the Brisbane Catholic Archdiocese: Catholic Retreat Ministries
“Donna facilitates retreats, workshops and special events for primary and secondary schools and parishes. She creates empowering experiences of connection and belonging for young people. With her warm, fun and respectful approach, her professional use of live music, story telling, values-based games, individual and group reflection, symbols, relevant messaging and scripture provide meaningful experiences for the children and teenagers.”
