Quo Vadis Days

Date: 6/25-6-29/23

Quo Vadis Days is a young men’s discernment retreat sponsored by the Diocese of Harrisburg Office of Vocations. It is a time of recreation, fellowship, prayer, and discussion aimed at helping young men explore the Lord’s call. During the retreat, participants will engage in activities such as prayer, hiking, games, bonfires, and sports. There will also be talks, great food, and discussions. The retreat takes place at Mount Saint Mary’s College in Emmitsburg, MD in June. Transportation is not provided, so participants must arrange their own.

Crusader Leadership Retreat

Date: 6/19-6-21-23

The Crusader Leadership Retreat is an overnight retreat designed for students who have been recognized for their leadership qualities by LCHS staff, coaches, moderators, or administrators. The retreat focuses on team-building, leadership development, spiritual growth, and faith-deepening. Participants will engage in activities such as a challenge course, high ropes course, prayer, and faith development. This retreat is by invitation only and open to students in grades 10-12.

PA March for Life

Date: 10/16/23

The PA March for Life is a one-day event that combines prayer, Mass, music, and public support for Life. It is a Diocese-sponsored rally and march held at the PA State Capital in Harrisburg. Students will gather in Campus Ministry at 8 AM and return to LCHS by 3 PM.

Freshman Retreat

Date: 10/11/23

The Freshman Retreat is a one-day retreat held in the fall to welcome the new class to the LCHS family and promote class unity. The day begins with a Mass, followed by team-building activities and discussions on the importance of being an active part of the school community. The retreat aims to challenge freshmen to explore and grow in their faith and understand the purpose of their education. While attendance at an additional weekend/out-of-school retreat is encouraged, it is not mandatory.

Journey Retreat

Date: 10/29-10/31/23

The Journey Retreat is a three-day, two-night retreat inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy. Retreatants will watch the films and discuss the Catholic themes present in the story, such as the theological virtues of faith, hope, and love. Other themes explored include dealing with evil, making difficult decisions, and the importance of friendship. This retreat is open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors.

Fan the Fire Youth Rally

Date: 11/04/2023

The Fan the Fire Youth Rally is a gathering of hundreds of teens from the mid-Atlantic region. The day includes a keynote talk, multiple breakout talks, praise and worship music, the opportunity for confession, a dinner concert, Holy Hour, and Mass. The rally takes place on the second or third Saturday in November at St. Joseph Catholic Church in York, PA. It is open to all students and runs from approximately 9 AM to 5 PM.

Visit a Seminary

Date: 11/09/23

This retreat option offers a tour of the seminary facilities at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, MD. It is sponsored by the Diocese of Harrisburg Office of Vocations. Junior and senior Catholic young men who are at least 16 years old will have the opportunity to meet seminarians, priests, and professors. This retreat provides a glimpse into life in the seminary and as a diocesan priest. The day concludes with a free lunch at The Mount.

Brave

Date: 1/28-1/30/24

Brave is an overnight retreat experience for sophomore ladies that focuses on living as a young woman for Christ. Led by adult staff and a team of upperclassmen, the retreat explores the challenges and graces of living a life of Christian character, modesty, chastity, and honoring the complementarity of masculinity. The core of the retreat is the teaching of the Theology of the Body by St. John Paul II. It is open to sophomore girls.

De Sales Service Works (DSW)

Dates: 2/22/24-2/24/24, 3/14/24-3/16/24, 4/25/24-4/27/24

DSW is a three-day service experience that takes place in an underprivileged neighborhood in Camden, NJ. Participants will work and worship alongside students from other schools. The retreat includes travel, workdays, prayer, and fun. Students who participate in this trip will fulfill their retreat requirement and receive 15 Good Samaritan hours. DSW retreats are open to students in grades 10-12.

Fourth Day Retreat

Date: 2/29-3/3/24

The Fourth Day Retreat is a follow-up for senior KAIROS alumni, providing an opportunity for further spiritual growth and exploration before leaving LCHS. The retreat includes relevant discussions on living and growing in faith during the years following graduation, whether students go on to college or enter the workforce. This retreat is held in the spring and is open exclusively to seniors who have previously attended a KAIROS retreat.

KAIROS

Dates: Kairos 49 11/18-11/21/23, 50 2/8-2/11/24, 51 4/11-4/14/24

KAIROS is an incredible four-day, three-night retreat experience led by a team of past participants (students) and faculty. The retreat aims to help students explore the nature of God and their own identity in relation to God. It emphasizes the importance of developing a relationship with God and nurturing healthy, holy relationships with peers and adults. KAIROS retreats are held three times a year, in the fall, winter, and spring. They are open to juniors and seniors.

March for Life

Date: 1/19/2024

The March for Life retreat combines faith and civic duty in a one-day event. Students, led by faculty and staff, travel to Washington DC to join hundreds of thousands of people in a march and rally advocating for life. The day includes youth events before the march and rally begin around noon. This retreat is open to all students.

Men at Work

Date: 4/04/-4/06/24

Men at Work is a new retreat designed for sophomore boys as a counterpart to the BRAVE retreat for girls. The retreat focuses on work projects, prayer, talks, and discussions related to the Theology of the Body by St. John Paul II. This retreat is limited to 18 spots and is open to sophomore boys.

2024 In-School Retreat Day

Date: 3/27/24

The 2024 In-School Retreat Day takes place during a regular school day and is open to students in grades 10 to 12. The retreat is divided into three tracks, each focusing on a different aspect of the theme for the year: Hope. Sophomores reflect on their high school experience thus far, juniors explore taking on greater leadership roles, and seniors discuss the challenges of post-high school life and how to carry their faith forward. This retreat is held on campus and provides a unique opportunity for students to engage in introspection and personal growth.
