Year 6 Retreat: Leadership
“Be Strong and Courageous”
Your students will be inspired to be servant leaders and encouraged by the words of Joshua 1:9, “Be strong and courageous for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go”. They will learn about servant leadership through an age-appropriate re-telling of Lawrence Kohlberg’s stages of moral development. The songs, games, activities, prayers and input give your students an experience of Christian living.
Year 7 Retreat: Relationships, Compassion
1 Corinthians 13:4-8, 13 will guide your students as they integrate the values Jesus taught us for creating positive relationships with their own lived experience. The input and activities draw on evidence-based recommendations from Brene Brown’s research on authentic, fulfilling relationships. The retreat will invite your students to bring out the best in themselves and each other under the loving guidance of God.
Year 8 or 9 Retreat: Confidence
“Castles that Last”
Inspired by Matthew 5:5; 5:14, 25; and 7:24-25, your students will deepen their understanding of building positive relationships with peers and facing life’s challenges with meekness, wisdom and confidence. The input and activities draw on evidence -based recommendations from Brene Brown’s research on resilience and relationships. The retreat will invite your students to bring out the best in themselves and each other under the loving guidance of God.
Year 10 Retreat: Self Awareness, Maturity
“Grow in Wisdom and Stature”
Your students will be supported to move confidently into maturity with a positive self-image, a sense of purpose in life, encouragement from significant others. The retreat input and activities are guided by the writings of acclaimed psychologist, author and speaker, Steve Biddulph. Each element of the retreat experience is grounded in the Christian Faith, centering on the scripture, “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and people.” (Luke 2:52)
Year 11 or 12 Retreat: Resilience
“Peace be with You”
Your students will be invited to explore ways to be more confident to be their best selves, armed with strategies to develop their skills in spirituality, relationships and resilience. The wisdom found in Philippians 4:4-9, Brene Brown’s research on wholehearted living and your students’ own stories connect to invite your young adults to identify strong support networks, articulate noble values, practice gratitude and prayer. Your students will enjoy a deeper experience of prayer together and individually.
