Religious education plays a vital role in the spiritual development of children and teenagers. At https://experience-wellbeing.com, we offer a comprehensive faith formation program that aims to provide meaningful experiences for individuals of all ages. From preschool to high school, we have tailored programs that cater to the unique needs of each age group.
Faith Formation for Public School Children
Our faith formation program is open to public school children in grades Pre-K (3 years old+) through 8. Sessions are held every Monday evening from 6:30 pm to 7:45 pm, starting on September 11, 2023. To register, you can visit our website and fill out the Faith Formation Registration Form or call us at 412-922-6388.
Pre-School Program
Our pre-school program is designed to introduce prayers and scripture at a pre-school level. We incorporate various activities, games, music, art, and literature to engage children and help them develop social skills. The program uses the Loyola Press Text and focuses on language and math skills. We believe in creating a nurturing environment that fosters spiritual growth even at a young age.
Grades 1 – 6 Program
For children in grades 1 to 6, we have developed a program using the Loyola Press Finding God curriculum. This curriculum utilizes music, art, literature, multimedia, and activities to teach the faith. Each grade level explores different aspects of the Catholic faith, and in grade 6, there is a special presentation of individual Bibles and Scripture Study. Our goal is to make learning about the faith engaging and interactive for children.
Grades 7 – 8 Program
Our program for students in grades 7 and 8 focuses on catechesis with direct experiences of prayer and service. We believe that faith formation goes beyond classroom learning; thus, we provide retreat days, faith rally days, service days, and field trips to help students deepen their understanding of the faith. These experiences allow them to connect with their spirituality and develop a personal relationship with God.
Family Program
At https://experience-wellbeing.com, we understand the importance of involving the whole family in faith formation. That is why we offer a monthly family program that caters to all ages. This program includes a free dinner, activities for the entire family, and prayer experiences. It is an excellent opportunity for families to come together, bond, and grow in their faith as a unit.
High School Program
Our Teen Leadership Service Corps is designed for high school students. This program allows teens to meet once a month to plan and conduct service opportunities in Catholic institutions throughout the diocese. Some of the institutions we work with include RED DOOR ministries, Little Sisters of the Poor, St. Joseph House of Hospitality, and St. Vincent de Paul. Through these service experiences, teenagers develop leadership skills and deepen their understanding of their faith.
Sacramental Preparation
In addition to our faith formation program, we also offer preparation activities for the Sacraments of Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation. These sacraments are important milestones in a person’s spiritual journey, and we strive to provide meaningful preparation experiences. For more information on our sacramental preparation activities, please call us at 412-922-6388.
