Meet Our Esteemed Instructors

We are delighted to welcome back Swami Purnamritananda Puri, a senior disciple of Amma. Swamiji will offer satsang, guide us in his signature flute meditation, and hold interviews with each participant in small groups. His wisdom and guidance will enrich your retreat experience.

Additionally, we have the honor of welcoming Swami Atmananda Puri, who will speak on the essence of the Mandukya Upanishad. Br. Atmaprakash Chaitanya will also share insights on the ancient Ishavasya Upanishad. With their teachings, you will gain a deeper understanding of these profound scriptures.

Retreat Options

We offer three retreat options to cater to your preferences and availability:

  1. Amritapuri In-Person Retreat: Join us in person at Amritapuri for a fully immersive experience of the retreat.
  2. Online Full Retreat: Participate in the retreat from the comfort of your own home through our online platform. This option allows you to fully engage in all the practices and teachings.
  3. Online Light – Partial Retreat: For those with busy lives, this option allows you to customize your retreat experience. You can combine noble silence and the practices with your other responsibilities.

Scripture Classes

Deepen your understanding of spiritual texts with our scripture classes. Swami Atmananda Puri will present a study of the Mandukya Upanishad in a series of lectures titled “Meditation is a Noun, not a Verb.” Br. Atmaprakash Chaitanya will explore the ancient Ishavasya Upanishad. These classes will provide valuable insights into these profound scriptures.

Group Check-In with Swami Purnamritananda Puri

Swami Purnamritananda Puri, a senior disciple of Amma, has been an integral part of our retreats since their inception. He will meet with all participants in small groups, offering guidance, answering questions, and providing an opportunity to discuss your practice. This personalized interaction with Swamiji is a unique and invaluable aspect of our retreats.

Senior Instructors

Our retreats are led by a core team of senior instructors who have extensive experience in guiding spiritual seekers. Narendra, Rasya, Vinod, and Br. Mitramrita Chaitanya will be there to support and guide you throughout your retreat journey.

Weekly Seva

As part of the retreat, you will have the opportunity to engage in selfless service, known as seva. Once a week, participants will come together in silence to perform a couple of hours of light seva. This act of service not only benefits others but also deepens your own spiritual practice.

Juice Fast and Restorative Yoga

On Thursdays, you will have the chance to rejuvenate your body and mind through a restorative yoga session. In addition, you are invited to observe a juice fast until dinner. This day of detoxification and rejuvenation will enhance your overall retreat experience.

Self-Practice Yoga Time

Midway through the retreat, you will have the option to either follow a guided yoga practice exploring different themes and sequences or use the time for your own yoga self-practice. This flexibility allows you to tailor your retreat experience to your specific needs and preferences.

Online Participants

Our online retreats provide a unique opportunity for those with busy lives to embark on a 28-day journey into silence. Customize your retreat by combining noble silence with the practices and responsibilities of your daily life. This flexibility ensures that you can fully benefit from the retreat experience, no matter your circumstances.

Requirements for Eligibility

To participate in our online retreats, you must meet the following requirements:

  1. Previous Retreat Experience: You must have previously attended at least one 5-Day, 7-Day, or 9-Day Amrita Silent Retreat. Alternatively, you should have attended a silent meditation retreat of a minimum of 10 days in another lineage.
  2. Regular Meditation and Yoga Practice: It is essential to maintain a regular practice of meditation and yoga to fully benefit from the retreat.

Please note that meeting these requirements is necessary for admission into the retreat. If you do not meet these prerequisites, we recommend attending one of our other residential silent meditation retreats. The Amrita Silent Retreats Committee reserves the right to select participants based on these prerequisites and the information provided in your application.
